I had lunch at Salumi today. It’s very near the top of my list for favorite lunch places in Seattle. It’s small and crowded, but worth every second spent standing in line. Today I got a Salumi Salami sandwich and it was, as always, excellent. My usual favorite is the meatball sandwich with fresh mozzarella. But really, it’s impossible to recommend any single item; everything I’ve tried there has been outstanding. If you live in Seattle, like Italian food and haven’t tried Salumi, I think you’re missing out.
Yes, for once there were blue skies in Seattle this morning. But by late afternoon, the clouds had again taken over.
There were, of course, more protests today in Seattle. I stopped briefly at Westlake Park on the way home from work and took some pictures. I didn’t feel like getting any colder or wetter than I already was, so I didn’t stick around for long.

In what I am sure will be just the beginning of such demonstrations, a large group of protesters gathered in Seattle’s Westlake Park this afternoon after marching there from various locations. There was a heavy police presence, but from my vantage point the event was largely peaceful and the police let the protesters do their thing without a lot of interference. From what I have heard on the news, the sitution has escalated somewhat since I left.
