The paving out front is finally done, only five days after they said it would be. And it comes with crisp new lines painted for the parking spaces. I don’t suppose this will convince anyone to actually obey them or anything…

Yesterday, we went to the zoo. It was a nearly perfect zoo day — not too hot, but not raining or cold either. It was a lot of fun.

Today, on the other hand, has been mostly filled with cleaning and other housework. Now I’m just waiting for the last load of laundry to finish so I can fold it and go to sleep…

We did do one fun thing today. We made Martha’s macaroni and cheese. I don’t care if you’re a Martha fan or not; if you want a good mac and cheese recipe, this one is worth trying!

I saw this dog last weekend in Portland. It seemed very serious about its task of keeping watch over the activity on the street.

I’ve posted road construction pictures two days in a row. Maybe I should just register “constructionblog.com” and get it over with, huh?

I always think it looks neat when they strip all the asphalt off the road and leave it as bare red bricks.
