Greenlake

Yesterday was an amazingly beautiful day that brought throngs of people to Green Lake and Gas Works Park. Today wasn’t so bad either, though it was a bit breezy. It’s almost as if mother nature is teasing us with what could be…

Bus tunnel

I had to run an errand on the way in to work this morning, so I caught the bus at the University Street tunnel station instead of the Westlake Station as usual. They’re only a few blocks apart, but the atmosphere is noticably different. While people of all types use each of the stations, the mix differs. University Street tends to have more people in suits than any of the other stations, for example. Westlake has a lot of tourists. And in baseball season, International District Station gets overrun by Mariners fans. Variety is fun.

Salumi

I had lunch at Salumi today. It’s very near the top of my list for favorite lunch places in Seattle. It’s small and crowded, but worth every second spent standing in line. Today I got a Salumi Salami sandwich and it was, as always, excellent. My usual favorite is the meatball sandwich with fresh mozzarella. But really, it’s impossible to recommend any single item; everything I’ve tried there has been outstanding. If you live in Seattle, like Italian food and haven’t tried Salumi, I think you’re missing out.
