TIBTIL: 1Z Einszett Cockpit Premium
Saturday, July 17th, 2010

I know you’ve been waiting, and it’s finally time. Time for another TIBTIL (“things I’ve bought that I love”, for any newbies; it’s named after Mindy Kaling’s defunct blog). And this time it’s a car product. I can hear you cheering now.

1Z Einszett Cockpit Premium may be one of the only cleaning products I’ve ever bought that I could say I actually love (yes, the SpotBot is another). It’s designed for cleaning the interior surfaces of your car. There are a ton of products on the market for that, but most of them are terrible. They make things shiny or greasy, and they leave behind a nasty residue. 1Z Cockpit does none of those things. It gets the car really clean, but also leaves matte surfaces matte.

The ad claims it has a “light, fresh citrus scent.” I’m not so sure about that. The scent isn’t offensive, but it doesn’t smell anything like citrus to me, and I’d prefer no scent at all if I had a choice. But that’s really the only drawback to this stuff — I really love it.

For the record, I don’t use 1Z Cockpit on all of the interior of my car. I use Lexol products for the leather, Plexus for shiny plastic pieces and Klear Screen for LCD screens. But on every other hard surface, 1Z Cockpit is amazing.
